As I have a big love for cold war era aircraft and retrofuturism I decided to work on a design for a jet/spaceship inspired by the technology of the time!
The main inspirations were the American F-86 sabre jet (front and livery), C130 (inside) and the Soviet MIL 24 Hind (general shape) and MIG 21 (engines) with some others.

I really enjoyed working on this project and spent a lot of time on getting the lighting right in UE4 as I really liked the basic Cycles render I made before.
The entire project was made following the game asset pipeline (PBR, high-to-low poly).

First step of making sketches was getting a lot of different shapes with an interesting silhouette. After choosing some versions I sketched some iterations (next page).

I picked a sketch and used it as a base, however the concept was not fixed and I changed some parts during modelling. The focus was on getting interesting shapes rather than a good perspective so I didn't focus on that.
